“All this while, it is only the government that helps the people by providing roads, clean water supply , electricity supply, among others,” he said.
Being a big state, the people must also understand that development projects could not be implemented at once but would be carried out according to phases, he added.
He also said the enthusiasm of the people in wanting to progress was one of the factors that had contributed towards the success of an establishment of a certain organization.

Speaking at the launching of the Information Department’s Info Bestari programme and Anjung Bestari at Nanga Jela, near here, he said as an organisation, the success of the Komuniti Bestari as an information centre was based on the spirit of volunteerism and independency.
Besides that, the organisation would also enhance cooperation among its own members and members of the Village Security and Development Committee to benefit the longhouse or village concerned, he added.
Later, he annouced a government grant of RM5000 to the JKKK and Women’s Bureau at Nanga Jela.
Earlier, Deputy Director of the Information Department, Sharifah Mariam Syed Dawilah said the establishment of the Komuniti Bestari was one way the department could disseminate government information to the people on the ground.

It was essential that the people were aware of the various government policies and programmes to keep abreast of what were being done by the government for the people, she said.
She also advised them to keep their patriotism spirit high and to remain loyal to the country.
Among the activties held for the one-day event were gotong-royong, talks, traditional sports and games, Layar Bestari and handing over of gifts to excellent students.
Also present were senior Information Officers, Zaini Mohamad Charles Sigat Asson.
